the beautiful thing about curating a home is that it really becomes a reflection of you and your family as you begin layering on things you’ve collected and memories you’ve shared. i think that’s why i’m so drawn to a home that is very layered – books in stacks with knickknacks on top, mantles with layered artwork, bookshelves with well loved books and treasures. it becomes special and it’s what makes your home feel lived in instead of just styled by someone you don’t even know that picks out a bunch of things that they think represent you.
today on style me pretty is courtney donnelly’s (a “life stylist”) home. while it certainly feels a little touched by an interior decorator it speaks to my aesthetic and love for layers. a great neutral palette and little vignettes always do me in.
